The syntype female is probably the dry-season form, which is not different from that of ssp. jadeitina. However, in the WSF, the yellow spots on the upperside of both wings are clearly smaller than those of the WSF of ssp.jadeitina, especially on the hindwings. Here, I provisionally treat this population as a separate subspecies, although further taxonomic study is needed.

Yokochi (2026) treated the populations from N. Laos as belonging to this subspecies. Although some individuals closely resemble it, specimens indistinguishable from ssp.jadeitina are also found in N. Laos, including among the WSF. Here, these specimens are tentatively treated as ssp.jadeitina; however, ssp.eleanor is highly likely to occur in E. Laos, such as Lak Sao. Further distributional research is needed.
