Notes
As no females have been identified in the populations from Phetchabun and Chaiyaphum in N-C. Thailand, their exact subspecific status remains undetermined.
Furthermore, several populations in mainland Thailand may represent distinct subspecies. For example:
01. W. Thailand:
Both sexes are large.
Males have a broad blue band on the UpH that is very similar to that of ssp.merguia; however, the ground colour on the underside is markedly paler.
Females have very large yellow spots on the upperside of both wings and lack the subapical white spots in spaces 4–6 of the UpF.
02. S.E. Thailand:
Females are somewhat similar to those of ssp.bontouxi, but the white subapical spots in spaces 4–6 on the UpF are significantly smaller.
Further distributional and taxonomic studies are needed.
