The butterfly is locally common in forests at low elevations (Alt. 200 - 350m). Males form flight paths along streams or forest edges, and are frequently observed mud-puddling along stream banks and at puddles.
This taxon is highly variable, and it is considered that all populations in continental Thailand are included in ssp.pitmani.
