Notes

The butterfly is locally not rare in montane forests at moderate elevations (Alt. 900 - 1100m).
This taxon is very similar to Dacalana penicilligera, and examination of the male genitalia is needed. This subspecies can be distinguished from the nominotypical subspecies by a small androconial patch on the UpH, narrow median transverse underside bands and small tornal orange spot of the UnH, and from ssp.aoyamai by a small androconial patch on the UpH and narrow median transverse underside bands. Further distributional research is needed.
