The butterfly is not uncommon in montane forests at low elevations (Alt. 30 - 400m). Males frequently come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.
The populations in peninsular Thailand are not so clearly distinguished from ssp.lycambes, as noted by Kimura et al.,2014. The ground color of both surface is slightly darker, and the red spot in space 3 on the UnH tends to be more reddish and prominent. I tentatively treat it as ssp.miya. Further taxonomic study is needed.
