The butterfly is locally not rare in montane forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 300 - 900m). Males frequently come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.
The populations in peninsular Thailand are not so clearly distinguished from ssp.lycambes, as noted by Kimura et al.,2014. Kimura et al.,2014 treated the population from Hua Hin in the northern part of peninsular Thailand as ssp.miya, but it seems to be this taxon. Further taxonomic study is needed.
