The butterfly is locally not rare in citrus plantations or gardens at low elevations (Alt. 10m - 350m).
Both sexes visit flowers and males occasionally come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.
The identification and distribution of the nominotypical subspecies and ssp.tavoyanus in Thailand is still unclear.
I tentatively follow Kimura et al. (2014), but the populations from SE.Thailand and Phetchaburi, P.Thailand may be ssp.tavoyanus.
Further taxonomic study with a large number of specimens from different localities is needed.
