Notes

The buttefly is locally not rare in montane forests at high elevations (Alt. 1800 - 2200m).
The population from Kachin State, N. Myanmar seems to be ssp.khasiana, and most of the populations from Indochina are also thought to belong to this taxon. Very curiously, the populations from S.E. Yunnan and N.W. Vietnam are intermediate in appearance between the nominotypical subspecies and ssp.khasiana. Further taxonomic and distributional studies are needed.
