The butterfly is not rare in montane forests at low elevations (Alt. 50 - 300m).
Males are territorial on shrubs or trees.
The specimens from Yala are mostly the same as ssp.savitri from mainland of W.Malaysia.
But occasionally the intermediate individuals with ssp.albisticata are found.
It seems to be a transition area from ssp.savitri to ssp.albisticata.
