The butterfly is not rare in montane forest at low elevations (Alt.250m - 450m). Males are territorial on shrubs or trees.
The specimens from Yala is mostly same as ssp.savitri from mainland of Malaysia. But occasionally the intermediate individuals with ssp.albisticata is found. It seems transition area from ssp.savitri to ssp.albisticata.
