The butterfly is locally common in montane forests at moderate elevations (Alt. 700 - 1000m). Males frequently come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.
Godfrey,1930 recorded it from 'Mae Son forest, Phrae', N.Thailand and it is also referred in Pinratana,1977, however it is dubious. I consider it more likely to be an erroneous location.
