The butterfly is locally not rare in montane forest at low to moderate elevations (Alt.30m - 550m). Both sexes are polymorphic, with f.aenigma very similar to Euploea mulciber and f.aegiatus to Euploea radamantus. In flight, they are indistinguishable.
