Notes
The butterfly is locally common in montane primary forest at low to moderate elevations (Alt.100m - 900m) and is frequently found along the streams.
Males are territorial on leaves or trunks of trees at forest edges.
Some examples from Tak, W.Thailand have wider and brighter orange markings on the UpF., which similer to the type specimen in Myanmar. Examples from Ranong to Nakhon Si Thammarat, P.Thailand are variable and seem to be transition to ssp.amplurufa.
