This is the first record from Thailand, obtained on 22 June 2024 by Satawan Atdhabhan in Betong, Yala. The butterfly is rare in forests at moderate elevations (750–800 m a.s.l.).
The specimen from Yala (probably Than To), shown in Pinratana (1981), was thought to be the nominotypical subspecies. However, it appears somewhat close to this taxon, suggesting a transitional zone. Further distributional and taxonomic studies are needed.
