The butterfly is uncommon in montane forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 300 - 1200m).
The population from Nakhon Nayok was discovered by Masakazu Hayashi in 2021. Very surprisingly, the female of this area is polymorphic. Some specimens have conspicuous orange spots on the UpF. This probably corresponds to a seasonal form (dry season form). However, no such female polymorphism is known for the taxon Poritia manilia. In addition, the blue markings on the upper side of both sexes are highly variable and some specimens appear to be rather similar to ssp.dawna. Although this population differs from typical evansi and could be a distinct species, I tentatively treat it here as ssp.Poritia manilia evansi. It is also possible that dawna and evansi are within the variational range of the same taxon.
On the other hand, I suspect that the population from Yala may be the nominotypical subspecies. Further taxonomic and distributional studies are needed.
