The butterfly is locally not rare in montane forets at moderate to high elevations (Alt. 1200 - 1700m). Males are frequently come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.
Molecular analysis shows that Stimula is a subgenus of Koruthaialos, according to Zhang et al. (2022:39). However, their habits are quite different. The subspecific classification of this taxon in the Indochina area is not clear. Further taxonomic study is needed.
