Notes
The butterfly is not uncommon in forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 100 - 550m) and is crepuscular.
Males are frequently observed mud-puddling along stream banks and at puddles.
Both ssp.oedipodea and ssp.belesis occur together in Phetchaburi.
The area between the northern part of the peninsular Thailand and Kanchanaburi seems to be a transitional zone.
Further taxonomic and distributional studies are needed.
