Notes

The butterfly is uncommon in montane forests at moderate to high elevations (Alt. 1300 - 1700m).
The populations from Thailand and Laos have been treated as ssp.burnii. However, I consider they should be classified as ssp.timaeus based on their coloration and markings. The specimen shown in Ek-Amnuay is ssp.burnii from Myanmar and is correctly from N.E.Putao, Kachin States, not Shan States.
