Notes
The butterfly is common in montane forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 20 - 1200m).
Both sexes visit flowers and males frequently come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.
The continental taxon in this region has been previously treated as ssp.sadanobui.
However, the populations from western to northern Thailand have the same characteristics as the nominotypical subspecies.
For this reason, these are treated as ssp.andersonii, and ssp.sadanobui is assumed to have a distribution east of central Thailand.
Since the populations in northern Laos have not been examined, they are tentatively included in 'sadanobui', but further taxonomic study is needed.
