The butterfly is very common everywhere at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 50 - 700m).
Both sexes visit flowers and males occasionally come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.
In Betong district, Yala, southernmost part of Thailand, most of the individuals are ssp.malayana.
The population in Than To district, Yala is generally ssp.nina, however, individuals similar to ssp.malayana also occur rarely.
It seems to be a transition zone of both subspecies.
