This taxon was recently found in this region. The species closely resembles Graphium sarpedon, especially the wet season form, and it is necessary to examine male genitalia to confirm identification. However, the male hindwing androconial fold has long cream hairs at the base, which are pure white in Graphium sarpedon.
The butterfly is uncommon in montane forests at high elevations. It is likely to be confused with Graphium sarpedon and more habitats will be discovered in the future.
In the paper of Cotton et al.,2022, the locality 'Ha Giang' in North Vietnam is an error, correctly 'Sapa, Lao Cai'.
