The butterfly is locally common in montane forests at moderate to high elevations (Alt. 1000 - 2200m) and is frequently found on top of mountains. Males are territorial on trees at hilltops and fly in circles for long hours in their territorial space, and occasionally come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.
