The butterfly is uncommon in montane forests at low elevations (Alt. 20 - 50m).
Males form flight paths along streams or forest edges, and come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.
Only a few specimens have been obtained from Ranong to Surat Thani and the white markings on the UpH are rather variable.
A specimen from Ranong shown above appears to be an intermediate between ssp.pitmani and ssp.andamanicus.
Further taxonomic study is needed.
