Nymphalinae - Addendum

The following species were recorded from the Indo-Chinese region in previous publications, however were omitted from the list for the reasons written below.

Nymphalis c-album asakurai (Nakahara, 1920)
[ THAILAND ]
Polygonia c-album asakurai ; Morishita,1994 : 123, figs.5,♂,6,♂(Un). (Chiang Mai: Doi-ang-kang)
Polygonia c-album ssp. ; Pinratana & Eliot,1996 : 30, pl.12, fig.28,♂. (Chiang Mai)
Polygonia c-album ; Ek-Amnuay,[2007] : 366, pl.157, fig.N26,♂. (Chiang Mai)
Polygonia c-album ; Ek-Amnuay,2012 : 496, pl.221 fig.N374,♂. (Chiang Mai)
Polygonia c-album ssp. ; Kimura et al.,2016 : 57, figs.♂,♂(Un). (Doi Ankhaan)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This taxon was recorded from 'Doi Ang Khang, Chiang Mai' in Thailand by Morishita (1994) and is the single record for the Indochina region. This is based on a specimen from Y.Tetsuka's collection. The specimens resemble ssp.asakurai from Taiwan, as Morishita (1994) pointed out.
As mentioned in the section on Lethe mataja in Satyrinae - Addendum, Morishita (1994) reported two doubtful species, Lethe mataja and Polygonia c-album asakurai from Thailand by Y.Tetsuka's collection. I assume that these records are erroneous due to contamination of specimens from Taiwan.
Zhang et al. (2020) treated Polygonia as a subgenera of Nymphalis.

Symbrenthia hippoclus selangorana Corbet, 1948
[ THAILAND ]
Symbrenthia anna selangorana ; Pinratana,1979 : 28, not fig. (list only)
Symbrenthia hippoclus selangorana ; Pinratana & Eliot,1996 : 31, not fig. (list only)
Symbrenthia hippoclus selangorana ; Ek-Amnuay,[2007] : 368, pl.158, fig.N32,♂,♂(Un). (Ranong; Than To)
Symbrenthia hippoclus selangorana ; Ek-Amnuay,2012 : 498, pl.222 fig.N380,♂(Malaysia). (Ranong; Than To)
Symbrenthia hippoclus selangorana ; Kimura et al.,2016 : 55. (by literature)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Symbrenthia hippoclus is distinguishable from lilaea only by examination of the male genitalia.
I have examined all specimens from Peninsular Thailand in my collection and found only Symbrenthia lilaea. Therefore, the record of Symbrenthia hippoclus selangorana from Ranong and Than To are considered to be Symbrenthia lilaea luciana. I would like to list this species as pending until a reliable record is available that can be confirmed by male genitalia.

Kallima inachus siamensis Fruhstorfer, 1912
[ CAMBODIA ]
Kallima inachus siamensis ; Kosterin,2019 : 97. (Kampot)
Kallima inachus siamensis ; Kosterin,2020 : 327. (Pursat; Stung Treng)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kallima inachus, incognita and alicia may occur in this area, and examination of the genitalia is required for their identification. I would like to list this species as pending until a reliable record is available that can be confirmed by genitalia.
