Notes

The butterfly is locally common in semi-dried forests at low to high elevations (Alt. 400 - 1600m) and is frequently found at hilltops. Males are territorial on canopies.
As Takanami in Seki et al. (1991) pointed out, Deudorix calderon Kheil, 1884 from Nias is likely to be the same species as hypargyiria. Further taxonomic study is needed.
