The species was found by Les Day on 27.Jun.2014 in Koh Samui and this is the only known specimen in Thailand. The upperside is the same as ssp.malaya, but the discal band on the UnH is outwardly wide greenish silvery-edged and darker ground colour. I tentatively treat it as ssp.malaya, but further taxonomic study is needed.
There are some other photo records from Koh Phangan as 'Horaga albimacula ssp.?'. However, these are likely to be this taxon. The species can only be distinguished from Horaga albimacula by an examination of the male genitalia. Further taxonomic and distributional studies with specimens are needed.
