The butterfly is uncommon in montane forests at low to moderate elevations.
The populations from C.Thailand, Laos and Vietnam resemble ssp.miniata from Upper Tenasserim, Myanmar. However, females of miniata have prominent whitish scales in the tornal position on the UpH, whereas these populations almost lack them. Very interestingly, the larval pattern of C.Thailand is quite different from that of Laos and Peninsular Thailand. However, the wing markings and the male genitalia are very similar to those from Laos. Further taxonomic study is needed.
