The butterfly is locally not rare in montane forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 30 - 1000m).
I tentatively treat the populations from Kanchanaburi to Phetchaburi as ssp.maia. However, details of the Phetchaburi population are uncertain as there are no specimens, only photos taken in the wild. Confirmation of the female specimen and further taxonomic studies are needed.
