The butterfly is uncommon in montane forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 250 - 650m).
In Yala province, ssp.mirelliana and amphimuta-like individuals are found sympatrically.
These amphimuta-like individuals seem to closely resemble Arhopala asia which is considered a synonym of amphimuta.
I tentatively treat it as ssp.amphimuta.
However, the taxon asia is likely to be a distinct species.
Further taxonomic study is needed.
