Notes

The butterfly is locally not rare in montane forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 450 - 1200m).
Eliot & Kawazoé (1983: 142) recorded cerima from Assam, however, it is possible that it may be an erroneous locality or a misidentification of this taxon. Huang (2002: 105) recorded Udara selma ssp. from Bapo, Yunnan, which is considered to be this taxon. Also, an individual from W. Thailand in the Kimura collection preserved in RIEB is considered to be this taxon.
