Notes
The subspecies is very similar to ssp.roxana and the ordinary form is hardly distinguishable by the wing markings, though It tends to be slightly smaller in size. I have never seen winter season form in this subspecies, however it might be included to ssp.roxana. Further taxonomic study is needed.
The butterfly is locally common in montane forest at low to moderate elevations (alt.200m - 500m) and is often found around streams or forest edge.
