Notes
Individuals that occur in the winter season, December to February, tend to have a very broad white markings and reduced black spots of both wings. The species was described by de Nicéville, based on the male specimen of winter season form. The type specimen shown in Sheela et al.,2019 is possibly male, not female.
The butterfly is locally common in montane forest at low to moderate elevations (alt.200m - 1200m) and is often found around streams or forest edge.
