Notes
The butterfly is locally common in montane forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 200 - 1200m) and is often found around streams or forest edges.
Males frequently come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.
Individuals that occur in the winter season, December to February, tend to have a very broad white band and reduced black spots of both wings.
The species was described by Nicéville based on the male specimens of the winter season form.
The type specimen shown in Sheela et al. (2019) is possibly a male, not a female.
