The butterfly is uncommon in montane forests at low elevations (Alt. 50 - 400m). Males are territorial on trees.
A female specimen from Koh Samui dist., Surat Thani has very dark ground color on the upperside and seems rather different from other populations. Further taxonomic study and distributional research are needed.
