The holotype in the original description was an error for female, not male.
Both sexes have much more thinner white bands on the upperside of both wings than in the nominotypical subspecies, and is especially obvious in female.
The butterfly is rare in montane forests at moderate elevations (Alt. 1200m).
The records of S. Vietnam are known only from near Di Linh, Lam Dong (Alt.1200m).
Hitherto, this species is found allopatric with Euthalia monilis.
Therefore an old record from 'Ho Chi Minh' in Monastyrskii (2019) is doubtful.
Further distributional research is needed.
