This is localized species however is not rare in the habitats. The butterfly is found in montane forest at moderate elevations (alt.700m - 1000m).
In some examples of C.Thailand, the orange marking of the UpF is broader however is variable.
Kimura et al. (2016) recorded it from Chiang Dao, however these specimens were bought from local dealer.
There are no other records in this area, and further research is needed to determine if this species is indeed distributed in Northern Thailand.
