Notes

The butterfly is locally common in montane forests at moderate to high elevations (Alt. 900 - 1600m). Males are territorial on shrubs or undergrowth.
Kimura et al.,2011 recorded this taxon from Than To, Yala, but this is rather doubtful. If this record is correct, it could be ssp.fraseri. The specimen identity needs to be reconfirmed.

The species of this genus are so similar that identification by male genitalia is required. Therefore, records that do not examine the male genitalia cannot be adopted. In addition, although there are many field photos, most are either misidentified or unidentifiable and therefore cannot be used as records.
