The butterfly is locally common in secondary and montane forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 100 - 1100m) and is often found at forest edges.
Males are territorial on shrubs or undergrowth.
Both sexes visit flowers and males occasionally come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.
Godfrey,1932 recorded this species from Ranong, P.Thailand, but this is somewhat doubtful.
Therefore, it is on hold until a reliable specimen is confirmed.
