The butterfly is not rare in montane forests at moderate elevations (Alt. 500 - 800m) and is crepuscular.
Males frequently come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.
The Chiang Mai population has a quite variable and unstable male sex brand on the UpF.
It seems to be transitional individuals intermediate to ssp.margana.
