The butterfly was uncommon in montane forests at low elevations (Alt. 100 - 150m).
The population from Trang is similar to ssp.peninsularis (Pendlebury, 1933) but can be distinguished by its larger size (FL: 55mm), more conspicuous marginal white spots on the forewing and a distinct white spot in the forewing cell.
This taxon was discovered in January 1981 and a few specimens were collected.
However, it is thought to be extinct as its habitat was lost due to extensive flooding and landslides during the rainy season in 1981.
Further research is needed.
Ek-Amnuay ([2007], 2012) recorded ssp.peninsularis from 'Ranong' and Trang.
But the record from Trang is a misidentification of this taxon.
The record from Ranong is considered to be incorrect and the specimen shown is from Malaysia.
Polyura eudamippus peninsularis has never been found in Thailand.
