The butterfly is locally not rare in montane forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 300 - 1000m).
Ek-Amnuay,[2007],2012 recorded this species from 'Chiang Dao, Chiang Mai', but it is incorrect. The specimen was obtained in Umphang, Tak, W.Thailand. This species has never been found in Chiang Mai province until now.
Monastyrskii,2019 recorded the populations in southern part of central Vietnam as ssp.nausikaa, however, I consider it to be ssp.vilma.
