According to Masui (2025), it has been found that nama and melanoides are sympatric in C. Vietnam. Among the specimens illustrated by Masui (2017) as melanoides, fig.10 and 12, might be nama. Previous records from the relevant region need to be re-examined. Further taxonomic study, including molecular analysis, is needed.
