The butterfly is not rare in montane dense forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 200 - 500m). Monastyrskii,2011 synonymized both siamensis and gabrieli with the nominotypical subspecies. However, I treat them separately due to their morphological differences. Thus, I consider the records of south-central Vietnam region as ssp.siamensis due to its geographical distribution. The sympatricity of both Thauria aliris and Thauria lathy has not been confirmed. Further distributional research is needed. |
