The butterfly is locally common in montane forests at high elevations (Alt. 1600 - 2500m) and is frequently found on hilltops.
Males are territorial on shrubs at forest edges.
Kimura et al. (2014) noted that the population from Doi Inthanon is different from the population from Fang district.
However, I consider these to be the range of variation of this taxon.
Only one specimen is known from Nan Province, N.Thailand.
Although I tentatively treat it as this taxon, further taxonomic and distributional studies are needed.
