Bozano et al. (2016:37) assumed that the nominotypical subspecies described by Doubleday,1842 is the same taxon as in China. However, Yoshino (2023:34) treated lycorias as three subspecies, such as ssp.lycorias, ssp.difformis and ssp.meridionalis. Here I treat this it as the Indian population as in the past. Further taxonomic study is needed.
There are several specimens labeled 'Siam' in the NHML, but no detailed data is available and it is considered to be an erroneous locality.
