The butterfly is locally common in montane forests at low to moderate to moderate elevations (Alt. 300 - 1300m).
Godfrey (1932a) recorded it from 'Kaw Chang, Ranong' based on the specimens by A.F.G.Kerr.
However, many of the data from Kerr's specimens are doubtful of the authenticity of their location, which is also likely to be an erroneous locality.
Considering the distribution, the location name "Kaw Chang" might refer to "Koh Chang" in Trat, SE. Thailand, rather than Ranong.
Further distributional research is needed.
