The butterfly is locally not rare in montane forests at high elevations (Alt. 1600 - 2200m). Males frequently come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water together with berinda, belladonna and patrua. Delias sanaca and Delias berinda are quite similar and need to check genitalia for identification.
The population of Phou Samsoum, Xiengkhouang, Laos seems to be an intermediate between ssp.perspicua and ssp.bidoupa. Further taxonomic study is needed.
