The butterfly is locally common in montane forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 400 - 900m) and is frequently found at forest edges.
Males are territorial on undergrowth or shrubs.
Pinratana (1981) and Ek-Amnuay ([2007],2012) recorded it from 'Nakhon Nayok' and 'Saraburi', however these are doubtful.
These records are not to be used until a new reliable specimen is obtained.
Further distributional research is needed.
