The butterfly is not rare in montane primary forest at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 30 - 700m). They often fly out from bushes along the trail and rest on the underside of leaves.
Pinratana,1981 recorded it from 'Bangkok'. I have not checked the specimen, but this record is somewhat doubtful. Further distributional research is needed.
