Only one male was recorded from Thailand (25.Feb.1999, Ubon Ratchathani. S.Yamaguchi & T.Aoki) until it was found in Chiang Mai province in 2020. Subsequently it was found in Nakhon Nayok province.
The butterfly is locally not rare in montane forests at moderate elevations (Alt. 750 - 1500m). Males are territorial at hilltops and often settle on tree trunks and branches.
