New to Vietnam.
Huang (2022:151) treated the taxon androconia as a subspecies of bhotea and included the populations of Vietnam in it. However, intermediate populations are found throughout its distribution range. Huang also mentioned that "It is possible that a subspecific division is not necessary for Pratapa bhotea". Therefore, until the extent of regional and individual variation in this species is known, the population of Vietnam is provisionally included in the nominopypical subspecies. Further taxonomic study is needed.
